Dive outside of JT where we had beer and chicken fingers
Taking film photos has always been a fun pastime, even though in the end, I feel much more at home with drawing and painting. Some of my collage pieces have started to combine photos I've taken with the organic lines and structures of my paintings, maybe this will be a direction that I keep up with in school.
For Valentine's Day this year, my boyfriend and I spent time in and around Joshua Tree National Park, a quick 2 hours drive from Los Angeles. I had fun playing with my new Holga, which is a plastic "toy" camera that uses medium format film. I was pleased with the results: saturated colors, somehow nostalgic feeling, and an interesting fuzzy and playful quality. I'm sure Scotland will provide plenty of Holga inspiration.
